Chicks On Fire

About

Aurelle on Aurelle:

She was a sea monkey. She fell from the sea and never was quite the same again.

Aurelle on Rouge:

Despite her name, she’s not actually a communist, regardless of what she may try to tell you. Don’t be too disappointed though, she is still French-Canadian. Perversely, she’s also got a sense of style and incredible taste in films. You should hate her. Like, a lot.

Aurelle on Flea:

I’m sure the net lingo ‘teh sexxorz’ was created out of the need to describe the phenomenon that’s the girl simply named Flea. That’s her real name. Really. I hear that Aussies also call their babies Dingos. It’s all part of the Aussie outlaw mythology, and we must not deny ourselves the richness of the itch that’s Flea.

Rouge on Rouge:

Rouge is a communist with strong ties to Soviet Russia, when that dissolved she stole a soapbox from a butcher and has been ranting ever since.

Rouge on Aurelle:

Created by scientists in the early part of the 1980s, Aurelle is a digitally enhanced Karina look alike. Unfortunately, while installing her voice box they made a miscalculation. Since then she hasn’t been able to speak French, and her tongue is wilder than drugged out hampster. I don’t know what that means either :(

Flea on Aurelle:

Possessing super powers of persuasion, Aurelle uses her powers for good and with little restraint. She is intent on the distribution of knowledge on what is good for you but you just do not know.

Flea on Rouge:

Rouge taught me how to walk like a lady, roll my ‘r’s and dance like a disco bunny. She still visits once a fortnight.

Flea on Flea:

Survivor of multiple “insert stage of life” crises, I enjoy milk with tea, walking barefoot and acting cool while being uncool.

In conversation.

Aurelle: Well, Rouge, what’s your favourite body part?
Rouge: my cheekbones, they’re crazy-sauce.
Aurelle: What else is the crazy-sauce?
Rouge: In terms of body parts?
Aurelle: In terms of the universe!
Rouge: Samosas!
Aurelle: Samosas is a funny word! What’s your favourite word?
Rouge: Pamplemousse
Aurelle: Is that a mouse that’s pampered?
Rouge: It’s a grapefruit. :P
Aurelle: A pampered grapefruit mouse?
Rouge: Sure
Aurelle: Well that’s really off topic. Let’s get back on topic. Boys!
Russell Crowe
What do you think of when you see that picture?
Rouge: Well, first I think “AHH!!” Then I realise it’s Russell Crowe, and I remember he’s sexy. Then I get sad because the picture isn’t a really sexy picture of him.
Aurelle: Do you play video games?
Rouge: I used to, not so much anymore
Aurelle: What was your favourite game?
Rouge: Goldeneye 007
Aurelle: If you could go back in time and make any movie, which would you be in?
Rouge: Jules et Jim, Catherine’s role. She’s SO much like me, even though I’d never be like her if that makes sense. It’s probably the best female role I could ever play though.
Aurelle: I don’t know anything about your music taste. What’s YOUR song?
Rouge: San Franciso Mabel Joy- Joan Baez
Aurelle: Why is that?
Rouge: Aside from listening to it all the time, it’s all at once tragic and wishful. Joan Baez has a beautiful and effortless voice, it almost feels as though she’s singing about herself or someone she loves very much, however fantastic the subject.
Aurelle: Ah love. What would you suggest to be the best remedy for a love hangover?
Rouge: Chocolate and crying, so you get a lot of chocolate and you sit around watching sad old movies all day. Preferably with a friend so you don’t dehydrate
Aurelle: Which movie character would you rather have a love hangover with?
Rouge: Young Charlie from Shadow of a Doubt, she seems like she’d be a good friend.
Aurelle: Okay for the final question, what would you like me to have asked you instead?
Rouge: What’s your favourite kind of cheese?
Aurelle: And your answer would’ve been?
Rouge: Feta!
——————————–
Rouge: I know you like to go to the aquarium, which sea animal would you like to be ?
Aurelle: Sea otter! Although, that’s only because the sea monkey is extinct. And perhaps mystical.
Rouge: If you could live in any City in Canada, which would it be ?
Aurelle: Hm, tough. I love Toronto and I love Vancouver and I love Montreal. Argh. I’ll be where love is. :D
Rouge: That is the most perfect answer :) If you could steal one hairstyle from the history of films, which would it be?
Aurelle: Oh haha that’s very easy. It’s the one I have now, and it’s Anna Karina’s do in most films. Although, I wouldn’t mind Rita Hayworth’s in Gilda.
Rouge: A lot of work though, probably some curlers involved. Or curling iron.
Aurelle: Yeah I had curls before. Too much work. Though, the curlers in the hair look is tres awesome.
Rouge: It’s a style all of it’s own.
Aurelle: I used to walk around in school with curlers.
Rouge: I’ve never even worn any.
Aurelle: Why not? You should.
Rouge: Next time I come into money, I’ll buy some.
Aurelle: You know that Landlady from that Stephen Chow’s Hustle movie? That’s just crazy hair!
Rouge: I don’t!
Aurelle: Kung Fu Hustle!
Rouge:I haven’t seen it
Aurelle:
Kung Fu Hustle Landlady
It’s a lot of fun!
Rouge: That’s just brilliant! Okay, sidetracked! Back to questions! If you could spend the day at the beach with anybody in history, who would it be?
Aurelle: Um, that’s so hard. If it’s just any place else, it maybe a different answer. I guess it’s gonna have to be a hot guy then!
Rouge: That’s very good logic.
Aurelle: Ralph Fiennes.
Rouge: I can’t argue with that at all.
Aurelle: *drool*
Rouge: Okay, last one. If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be ?
Aurelle: Immortality. We’ll live forever and then we’ll travel in space to different planets and galaxy and then eventually we’ll solve the problem of getting out of this universe.
Rouge: That’s crazy , I love it!
Aurelle: Was that 10 questions? Wow it flew by.
Rouge: I don’t know! give me a second to check. That was only five. My brain is mush today. 5 more!
Aurelle: lol. I forgive you.
Rouge: Okay, ceiling fan: friend or foe
Aurelle: Friend, le duh.
Rouge: What’s your favourite season?
Aurelle: Hm, winter. I love skiing, the look of dead trees, warm fire, dark skies, school days, waiting for spring.
Rouge: When you were a little-Aurelle, what was your favourite movie?
Aurelle: How little was she?
Rouge: She was five.
Aurelle: At five, she was not allowed television. :(
Rouge: No theatres?
Aurelle: No.
Rouge: What about ten then?
Aurelle: At ten, she was not allowed television :(
Rouge: awww *hugs*
Aurelle: But sneaky favourite uncle rented Star Wars.
Rouge says: So Star Wars! You wanted to be Princess Leia, or Han Solo?
Aurelle: It wasn’t like I was really conscious of it or anything! I didn’t want to be anybody in there. I just wanted the light sabre. And the Ewok.
Rouge: That’s brilliant.
Aurelle: /embarassed.
Rouge: So, how did you get into film afterall?
Aurelle: My uncle sneaking me out of the house every now and then to the theatre. I can’t remember much of what I watched.
Rouge: That’s pretty cool, a romanticized cinematic past if there ever was.
Aurelle: I will tell you that that’s why I had so many ’screenplays’. I had to make up my own movies!
Rouge: Do you still have ambitions to make movies?
Aurelle: No, not anymore.
Rouge: Do you think movies will be always be a part of your life?
Aurelle: Yes!!
Rouge: Short and to the point. I think that’s more than ten now :)
